Head to the Microsoft web site <a rel="nofollow" style='text-decoration: none;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/mac/." target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/mac/.</a> Download and
install the service releases applicable to your version of office. Then use
Disk Utility to repair permissions on your hard drive.
That should take care the problem.
